Lisa Sorensen served as the official photographer for one of Jansen Hospice’s most popular fund-raising events – the annual Better Than Cooking Dinner which was held at the Bronxville Field Club on October 19, 2011. This fundraising event attracts approximately 200 – 250 people who are continually mingling throughout the evening’s festivities. In other words, they are not sitting still. Lisa captured absolutely wonderful photographs for us and was a joy to work with.

We first met Lisa Sorensen after moving to New York seven years ago. She took pictures of our then infant and toddler girls for our holiday card, and we have asked her to do so every year since. She has an uncanny ability to capture not only our children’s images but also express their very different personalities through her work. She has been a joy to work with and over the years has become a treasured friend to our family. Her kind and gentle nature and natural magnetism brings out the best in the subjects that she is trying to capture, even the family dog who typically won’t sit still! We highly recommend Lisa!

Family photos have always been important to us. Cherishing those memories has been even better since we began to use Lisa Sorensen Photography. We have had Lisa come down to Texas three different years now to take photos of our family. She is able to get wonderful, candid shots in a wide array of venues. Whether it is a sporting event, a trip to the park or just hanging around the house, Lisa is able to capture each of our children and their personalities in an effortless, un-intrusive manner. The result is natural, un-posed shots which freeze that moment in time. The best part however is the creativity that Lisa adds to the photos. Her unique photo finishing process actually turns your pictures into a work of art. It is a wonderful look that stands the test of time. We look forward to using Lisa again in the years ahead.

I hired Lisa to take a photograph of my border collie, Mabel, as a surprise Christmas present for my husband. Mabel was not 100% co-operative but Lisa was very patient and won her over and a lovely photograph ensued - all the more poignant as Mabel is no longer with us. A couple of years later we adopted another dog, Sally (beagle) and once again Lisa came over and the story repeated itself. Lisa's photos capture the subject so well. Highly recommended!!

I chose Lisa to photograph my son's bar mitzvah in May 2010. She was fabulous. She really captured the day, with terrific candid shots, as well as ritual shots and family shots before the event. She navigated some difficult family dynamics, and caught every moment. She even did some amazing stills of the party set up- making it easy to look back on the day and reminisce about details I glossed over in the emotion of the event! With Lisa, you are hiring a person, who cares enough to learn about who and what she is photographing, so that the end result is as special as the occasion.
